First, Some Background Information...

Each month, as a participant in MARKET DAY, restaurant-quality food products from companies such as Tropicana, Tyson, Smuckers, Campbell's, Rich Sea Pak, Kraft, and Eli's will be available for purchase.  St. Maria Goretti will earn at least 10% of the wholesale value of the food we buy.

Our fundraising opportunity is unlimited.  Proceeds from the Market Day program will be used to fund various parish ministries, such as the Sports Association, CRHP, Youth Programs, etc.

We can earn this money without door to door selling, without purchasing products we wouldn't ordinarily purchase, and with the knowledge that all products are exceptional quality and covered by a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee.

Frequently asked questions:

Why are we doing this?  How much does St. Maria Goretti make?

The decision to have a fundraiser of this type was not taken lightly.  The parish would prefer to have monthly obligations met through our tithing program.  However, tithing levels are not being met.  We will test this program through the end of the school year.  At the end of the trial period, the Parish Council will evaluate the success of the program and determine if we should continue.

Every item carries at minimum a 10% profit, each month featured items will carry a 15% profit.  In addition, if we get over 100 orders this month, MARKET DAY will give us an additional $100 bonus.

How often will we have a sale?

The sale will be held once a month, immediately after school (1:45-2:45) during the school year, and at 5:00 during the summer months, in Monsignor Duncan Hall. Please see chart for details.

How do I place an order? How do I pay?

There are two ways to place an order.

1.     Order online at www.marketday.com.  Our account number is 16642. Follow the instructions to have your order at the St. Maria Goretti sale.  (If you have trouble, please call Andy DeRyckere at 843-1413).  Orders placed on-line can be paid with Visa or Mastercard or you can designate that you want to pay with cash, check or food stamps at the sale.  These orders must be placed by the appropriate date listed above.

2.     The second option is to return the complete order form to school or church.  Simply complete the order form as directed.  A MARKET DAY mailbox will also be placed in the Narthex to deposit orders.  Do not send checks to school, a pay table will be set-up at the pick-up site.  These orders must be returned by the designated date (see chart above) to allow for mailing.

We would prefer orders to be placed on-line, but either way is acceptable.

I can't make it to SMG during pick-up hours.  Can I pick-up my order later?

Unfortunately, government regulations require a one-hour window for distribution.  As most of the food items are frozen, they cannot be left out for a longer period of time.  May we suggest placing an order on-line and asking a friend or neighbor to pick-up your order at the sale.

Do you need help with this program?

We thought you'd never ask!  Yes, we do.  If you could spend 2 hours (from approximately 1:00-3:00 or so) helping prepare for and "work" any of our upcoming sales, it would be appreciated. Please call Andy or Debbie at 843-1413 to sign-up.  We promise the tasks will be simple and enjoyable.  Who knows, you might even get to try a sample or two of Market Day products! (Think FISH hours!)
