MONTHLY MESSAGE -
MARCH 2008 |
|
Dear Brothers and
Sisters in Christ,
Hello! How’s your Lent going so
far? If you’re like me, you have good days and bad days, but
hopefully all of us are doing our best to draw closer to God during
these very special days!
Obviously, a
big part of Lent demands that we examine every aspect of our lives
and our relationship with God. This, of course, includes our
tithing. We can be praying our knees off, and evangelizing to every
one that we meet, and reading the Sacred Scriptures multiple times
during the day, and serving in every way possible, AND WE STILL have
an obligation to give our tithe to God. How are you doing? There’s
an easy way to check, especially since most of us have our tax
information fresh in our heads. It’s simple. Write down your gross
annual salary and multiply it by 0.05. That’s your tithe. That’s
what we are supposed to be giving. Are you making your tithe?
Our
sacrifices during Lent are so important. God sees each and every
thing that we do. And all those things, big and small, that we do
to show our love of God and to stay centered on Him and His Divine
Mercy, matter a great deal to Him. We see that time and time again
in Sacred Scriptures. We don’t have to worry. God does notice all
that we do. May each one of us then persevere in our Lenten
sacrifices. Everything we do shows our love of God and increases
our desire to love Him more. My brothers and sisters, we are being
purified now for all that is coming later. May we be ready and
prepared at all times for Jesus!
Here are
your envelopes for the month of March. Please use them
generously. May God bless and reward you for your kindness and
generosity towards Him and His Church.
Have a great
rest of your Lenten season and a Blessed and Holy Easter in just a
few weeks!
In Christ,
Fr. Kevin |
