Technical Issues ?

Started as a mission parish through the generosity and hard work of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, the groundbreaking for St. Maria Goretti occurred on July 6, 1995, the Feast of St. Maria Goretti. The first Mass at St. Maria Goretti was celebrated with Bishop William L. Higi on December 8, 1995, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Construction continued on the classrooms and St. Maria Goretti School opened its doors to 188 students in kindergarten through 5th grade on August 20, 1996.

In 1999 the school opened a new addition that allowed St. Maria Goretti to accommodate over 370 students in kindergarten through 8th grade. The final phase of the school, including the much-anticipated gymnasium, was completed in July of the Jubilee Year 2000. The school facility can now accommodate over 670 students each year. In the year 2000 there were over 750 families attending St. Maria Goretti. By the end of this year (2002), it is anticipated that over 900 Families will be attending our Parish.

On August 15, 2000, the feast of the Assumption of our Blessed Mother, St. Maria Goretti became an independent parish.
