Catechists and Substitutes Needed for P.R.E.
Do you enjoy sharing your faith with others? Do you enjoy being around children? Want to make a difference in another’s life? Then you may be called to be a PRE (Parish Religious Education) catechist! Being a catechist is rewarding and enriching. With the growth of the parish more catechists and co-catechists are needed for both the Sunday and Monday classes. Also many substitutes will be needed this year. Father Dale’s 20th Ordination Anniversary
From Disc Jockey to Awesome Priest! Mark your calendar to celebrate Father Dale’s 20th Anniversary as a priest on August 24th. We will begin with Mass in the main Church at 5:30pm followed by a buffet dinner in the Parish Hall.
Marriage Enrichment
“What do you have in your Marriage-Building Toolbox?” All married couples and engaged couples are invited to attend this year’s Marriage Enrichment on September 11, 2010 from 12:30-4:30pm in the main Church. Our presenters are John and Mary Ann Vanderveer from the Archdiocese of Louisville, KY. NO cost to participants.

PRAYING FOR HEROES
We are ready to kick off our “Praying for Heroes” program. Once a month we will post the sheet containing the current active Heroes in the entrance to the Eucharistic Adoration Chapel. Volunteers will pull one name and pray for that person in the Eucharistic Adoration Chapel. NOTE, anyone can be a volunteer to “Pray for Heroes” and visit the Eucharistic Adoration Chapel; you are not required to have a scheduled hour.
Help the Migrant Families
The migrant families of St. Mary’s in Alexandria, IN need our help! They do not have any extra money to buy First Communion dresses or shirts/pants. We are collecting donations until August 1st. Sizes: 10, 12-14 white First Communion dresses, boy’s blue or black pants-sizes 8, 10, 12, 14; and boy’s white shirts-sizes 12-14.
NATURAL FAMILY PLANNING (NFP) AWARENESS WEEK
NFP is about trusting the Lord in the most basic and intimate aspect of married life; intimacy and life. This would be a good time to learn more about NFP and to trust in the Lord God; He has a perfect plan for your marriage, your life.
MASS INTENTIONS FOR 2010 AVAILABLE
Due to Fr. Dan’s arrival we can now add an additional Mass Intention to the weekday Masses. If you would like to have a Mass offered for someone, or for your family, please come to the parish office to fill out the paperwork and to pay the $10 Mass stipend.
ROSARY

Westfield Smoking Ordinance
The Westfield Smoking Ordinance was passed on September 14, 2009, and prohibits smoking in most public it buildings in Westfield. It also requires smokers to remain at least 20 feet from the entrance of any public place. SMG has long had a no-smoking policy inside our facilities, and our parishioners and guests that choose to smoke are typically courteous about the presence of others when smoking outside. However, please be aware that this is now a matter of law as well as SMG policy.
Protocol In-Service
The Diocese requires all adults working with children in any capacity (PRE, Sports, Nursery, Youth Ministry, School Chaperone) to attend a Protocol In-Service. The next In-Service will be held on August 2nd from 7-8PM in the St. Augustine Room. Any questions, contact Connie Anderson at 867-3213, ext. 203.
2009 FAMILY DIRECTORIES
There are still many families who had their picture taken for the 2009 family directory, who have not picked up them up yet. Please stop by the parish office to pick up your family’s copy. If you did not have your picture taken for the directory, you can still purchase one for $20. Parish office hours are 8-noon and 1-5pm Monday through Friday.
SILVER ANGELS
The next Silver Angels meeting will be August 27th after the 8am Mass in the Parish Narthex. Please note that there is no July meeting.
