Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Welcome to our celebration of the Third Sunday of Lent! How’s your Lent going? Are you staying committed to what you said you would do on Ash Wednesday? Come on, you can do it!

In our first reading today, from the book of Genesis, God’s chosen one, Abram, receives multiple promise from God. Just as we have received multiple promises from God. And Abram, with a complete faith and trust, and with a holy innocence that only someone that close to God can have, Abram asks the most basic of questions: “O Lord, how am I to know?” Abram wants a ratification of his covenant with God. And God gives it to him. He sacrifices some animals. Abram has to protect the sacrifice from some vultures. Can’t you just see Abram out there in the desert, driving away vultures with his walking stick? And then, in the middle of the night, God swoops down from heaven with a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch. The sacrifice is accepted. The covenant is sealed. Abram has his promise.
SHEPHERDS GATE PANTRY
March’s food drive items:
Instant Potatoes and Rice.
Thank you for your donations to the food pantry. The number of people needing assistance has increased, so we appreciate and depend upon the monthly donations we receive.
Also, it’s not too early to be dropping off copier paper boxes for the food drives.
SPRING FLING ITEM DONATIONS
We’re asking every parish family to donate something to the 2010 Spring Fling. The donation could include an item, such as a religious statue, hand-made painting, airline miles or tickets to a sporting event…Or a service, such as babysitting or hosting a birthday party…Or you could make a cash donation. No item is too large or too small, and donations are tax deductible. Please contact David and Stephanie Kaser at 770-0748 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
